The Challenge
The client managed over 50,000 SKUs across 5 warehouses with a manual inventory tracking process. They suffered from frequent stockouts of high-demand items while simultaneously carrying excess slow-moving inventory. The order fulfillment rate was at 82%, and inventory carrying costs were eating into profit margins. Barcode scanning was non-existent, and the team relied on physical counts that happened only quarterly.
Our Solution
We implemented a comprehensive Inventory Management System featuring barcode and QR code scanning for all incoming/outgoing goods, automated reorder point calculations with lead time consideration, ABC analysis for inventory categorization, and predictive analytics for demand forecasting. The system was built on Laravel with Vue.js frontend for a responsive, app-like experience. Redis caching ensured sub-second response times for inventory lookups.
